JDRF Walk for the Cure! March 2 in West Palm Beach

Thousands of men, women and children join together to “Walk to Cure Diabetes” for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), each year in West Palm Beach, Florida. This walk is an entertaining event that brings families and friends with type 1 diabetes, together and shows support to all of the people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Each year, JDRF walks take place around the nation and we have one here in West Palm Beach at the Meyer Amphitheater. JDRF is the world’s leading foundation pioneering research for the cause, treatment and cure of T1D.

T1D is an autoimmune disease in which a person looses the ability to produce insulin. Insulin is a vital hormone created by the pancreas that is crucial to digestion. This disease is more common than we think. More than 15,000 kids and 15,000 adults in the United States are diagnosed each year with T1D. With JDRF setting the benchmark for research, they hold over 200 walks each year all across the United States. The organization has been incredibly successful connecting families and friends of those living with T1D across the nation. They bring a sense of calm and great support to families new to the disease and continue to provide for those who have lived with it for years. By joining the “JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes” in West Palm this year on March 2, 2013 you will connect with a network of families, volunteers and donors who are devoted to combating this disease.

Over the years JDRF’s Walk to Cure has raised over $1 billion. Each year the foundation gets closer and closer to finding the cure for type 1 diabetes. By participating in the walk we help JDRF get one step closer. Don’t miss out on this year’s Walk for the Cure 2013, taking place at 9 am on March 2, 2013 at the Meyer Amphitheater in 104 Datura Street, West Palm Beach, Florida.
